Performance Under Pressure Nomination #2 - Teachers

In part 1 of this 3-part series, we highlighted how iAspire is allowing staff from across the world to nominate colleagues who are making a tremendous impact on their colleagues. The first group highlighted was administrators!

If you ask people to identify somebody that made a lasting impact on their lives, many will tell the story of a teacher that changed them. Teachers have an amazing ability to inspire, love, and support their students. It comes as no surprise that teachers received nominations highlighting the many wonderful things they are doing to support others during this time of e-learning for all.

Nominations were given to teachers for planning authentic and relevant learning experiences for their students, taking time to hand deliver materials and resources to their students (at a safe distance of course!), and generally doing whatever it takes to support and nurture their students.

There were several nominations provided to those who support students with special needs and provide individualized resources to help their students succeed. Many nominations were also provided to teachers for seamlessly transitioning their students to digital learning, and many gave specific examples of how these teachers were helping them make this transition smooth for both the students and their parents/guardians.

Bambi nominated a teacher in her school for continuing to build relationships with her students and other staff members in her school:

"Angela has developed and implemented a 2nd and 3rd grade hybrid classroom for co-teaching. Her vision and mission to provide an outstanding education for all children is remarkable. She has been ahead of the curve when it comes to technology and its use within the classroom. Instilling a love of learning is about enthusiasm and love of her subject area and love of kids. She develops and builds those relationships with the students so that they feel safe and comfortable to ask questions, explore different ideas and concepts, and letting them know that she may not know all the answers, but together they will attempt to find the answers. Her students embrace the challenges of learning new things from curriculum content social-emotional skills and the knowledge that is necessary to utilize and apply the various apps and programs for the class assignments. During this global crisis just like other schools we have implemented distance learning. Angela has graciously and patiently been teaching and guiding other teachers how to implement and use the various electronic devices apps and programs in their distance learning classroom all the while leading facilitating and co-teaching her 2nd and 3rd graders. It is with great pleasure and honor that Angela receives this recognition." Bambi

Even with the current difficult education environment with COVID-19, Angela is able to transition her own classroom and help several of her colleagues transition to digital learning as well. The many hours of extra work put in by Angela (along with countless other educators) is noticed and appreciated by those around her. She has helped her students feel safe and comfortable in their new (temporary) normal.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Angela!

And thank you to the countless other teachers doing very similar work to Angela. Without you, schools wouldn’t be able to engage, nurture, love, and support students across the world. You are appreciated and recognized for your efforts!
